At Talem Bend we walked up the street for lunch at the local Hotel. Here is what we found! A cow dressed up in clothes. Saw old ruins. Beside the road ran a large pipeline with water I think. There were salt lakes and salt bush around here. Adelaide had a big racing show on on the weekend. We called in at a Service Station and General Store at Coomandook for fuel. Here the van wouldn't start once again. Called RAA. A chap came out and tried very hard to start it but no go. He then advised us to ring Mercedes Benz Dealership once again and they sent a chap out to look at it and he started it. They had two vans ours and another one and both had the same problems it seems. They replaced the fuse box and then two relays. Hope all is well now. Saw an emu and sheep in the paddock. Round hay bales lay in paddocks. Passed Ki Ki, it had a rest area. Coonalpyn which had silos, a showground, Bakery, Rest area and Police Staation. Trains are on the side roads. Sheep were around Culbarra. Tintinara is the heart of the parks. They had plenty. They had Shell and Liberty fuel stations, RAA, Bridgestone Tyres, Van Park, Hotel and grain silos. Stacks of trees are planted by the roadside. At Rices Creek was a Merino Stud. Terrapee had cattle and sheep in large open paddocks on farms. Coombe has a Fire Station. Saw black cows Stopped to look at a monument showing the infertile wastelands of Coonalpyn plains which was a 90 mile desert and was made useful by additions of copper, zinc and superphospates to grow crops. Taitara has wheat, sheep, cattle, alpacas and irrigated pasture.
